Today, January 3rd, marks the birth of Django Reinhardt the King of Gypsy Jazz guitar. When he was eighteen he suffered severe burns when a fire ravaged his caravan.
Doctors believed that he would never play the guitar again but his brother Joseph bought him a new one anyway.
It was then that young Django would begin teaching himself to play in an entirely new way.
